BIG

In BIG, twelve-year-old Josh Baskin (David Moscow) basically lives every kid's dream. He makes a wish with an old arcade machine (Zoltar Speaks) to be big, and by the next morning, his wish has been granted. Even better, he wakes up as Tom Hanks! Soon, Josh has it all: a totally sweet job as a toy developer, a rad New York City loft and a hot girlfriend (Elizabeth Perkins). With moments children can truly appreciate and jokes that will only register with adults, this film expertly operates on two levels, although certain elements, such as the penthouse trampoline and the jumbo F.A.O. Schwartz floor piano, incite ageless wonder. Seeing the world through Josh's youthful eyes is both inspiring and deeply funny, and the charm of BIG never gets old. (Sarah Pitre)
