ED WOOD

ED WOOD

It's hard to believe that this movie exists. ED WOOD is Tim Burton's semi-fictional valentine to the life of iconic filmmaker/novelist/cross-dresser/sleaze-merchant Edward D. Wood, Jr. Wood died a penniless alcoholic in 1978, a victim of defeat. He never got to see this big-budgeted biopic, which earned an oscar for star Martin Landau as Wood's close pal, Bela Lugosi. But who's to say that Wood hasn't seen this movie from somewhere in the beyond? As Criswell says, "Can you prove that it didn't happen?" (Joseph A. Ziemba)
