FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE

The Ennio Morricone score. The squinting eyes of Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef, two of the coolest men to ever strap on a pistol. The operatic widescreen poetry of director Sergio Leone. All the elements of a great spaghetti western are present here and although this movie is sandwiched right between two other immortal classics, A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS and THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, this is actually the best of them. The simple story of two bounty hunters who reluctantly team up in pursuit of El Indio (the great Gian Maria Volonte), one of the most wanted fugitives in the western territories, is elevated to stratospheric heights through sheer cinematic craft. Impossibly perfect. (Tommy)
