HEXER, DER

The run of "Krimi" movies made in Germany throughout the '60s inspired by the works of British mystery writer Edgar Wallace are singularly strange and exist within the zone of intersection on a Venn diagram that represents mysterious pulp novels, shadowy expressionism and hyper-stylized Italian giallo films. Der Hexer is the superlative example of this underappreciated micro-genre. True funnnn.  (Tommy Swenson)
