SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL

For SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL, John Hughes bucked his own tradition and put a boy (Eric Stoltz, who has never looked more gorgeous) in the center of the love triangle. The result was a fresh take on the angst of adolescent romance that still rings true today. As much as I love Molly Ringwald, I think Mary Stuart Masterson deserves to be crowned the Hughes Queen for her performance as the tough tomboy Watts. (I would still kill for those fringed fingerless gloves.)
